| Travelers are any DoD civilians or
military members who use DTS to create temporary duty travel (TDY/TAD)documents
(authorizations, vouchers, local vouchers). Non-DTS Entry Agents (NDEAs) create travel documents on behalf of a traveler, and in some cases, digitally sign on behalf of the traveler. |
| Routing Officials (ROs) are a part of the approval process for travel authorizations and vouchers. They review travel documents, authorize travel, certify funds availability, and/or authorize reimbursement of funds. Authorizing Officials, Certifying Officials, and Reviewing Officials are all considered Routing Officials. |
| Lead Defense Travel Administrators (LDTAs)
are generally the overall point of contact and leader of the DTS implementation
team for the site. Organizational Defense Travel Administrators (ODTAs) are responsible for the administration of DTS at the organization level and for maintaining traveler's data within their organization. |
| Financial Defense Travel Administrators (FDTAs) maintain lines of accounting (LOAs)and budgets in DTS. FDTAs may also assume the role of a Debt Management Monitor (DMM), someone who monitors travel debt collection at their site. |
| Transportation Officers (TOs) arrange group travel (10+ people), reconcile Centrally Billed Accounts at their site, and in some cases review foreign travel. This person may also be referred to as the "Installation Transportation Officer," "Traffic Manager," "Traffic Management Officer," or "Passenger Transportation Officer." |
